OUR STORY

From Humble Beginnings to a Growing Family of Faith

St Mary, St Cosman & St Demian Coptic Orthodox Church in Kellyville is part of the Coptic Orthodox Church, one of the oldest Christian churches in the world, founded by Saint Mark the Evangelist in the first century in Egypt.

The Church holds fast to the rich Apostolic teachings and traditions passed down through the Fathers, centred on the Holy Bible, the Sacraments, and the depth of our liturgical worship. At the heart of our Church is a simple truth: we are called to worship God in spirit and truth, to live faithfully, and to pass on our faith to our children and their children.

Our parish began with only a handful of families gathering in temporary spaces before moving to our permanent home in Kellyville. Through prayer, sacrifice, and God’s grace, St Mary, St Cosman & St Demian Coptic Orthodox Church has grown to serve a community of more than 1,000 faithful worshippers.

God has continually blessed our gathering with growth, and we now need to build a larger church for today’s families and tomorrow’s generations.
Our new church will be a home to welcome all who come in faith, where Christ is worshipped through the intercessions of St Mary, St Cosman and St Demian.

Sunday School is at the heart of our growing parish. Under the care of Father Timothy and our dedicated servants, children come together to learn about God, the Church, and the beauty of our faith. It is a safe and joyful place where young ones can make lasting friendships, ask questions, and build a foundation of faith that will guide them for life.

Youth Ministry

Youth ministry is at the heart of our service. Our Tuesday Bible studies and Friday youth meetings provide a safe and welcoming space for young people to explore their faith, ask questions, and find fellowship. These gatherings are filled with prayer, meaningful conversations, and the joy of growing together in Christ.
